During my years as an undergraduate English major, I was drawn to the world of teaching and tutoring through two part-time positions, including one on-campus, with college-aged students, and one with elementary to high school-aged students. I loved seeing my students' pleasure at learning how to comprehend the words they read, to assimilate that information into an in-depth college essay, to finally grasp that one bit of knowledge that so alluded them. I taught students with learning and behavioral disabilities, and was good at my job (and loved it). During the last seven years, I have tutored students in writing, English literature, reading, reading comprehension, psychology, the arts, anthropology, and study skills.
