I believe that people learn in different fashions. For example, I feel that some concepts may be better explained with tangible objects while other concepts are learned better when questioned and discussed. By exploring the different ways of learning we can find what works best for that individual and use that method as a tool for their understanding. I feel, in the past, that many of the peers I tutored not only obtained/recollected more information, but were more comfortable in a quiet, relaxed environment. A Little Bit About Me...

Graduating from Concordia College in Moorhead with a degree in accounting, and a strong background of math and businesses courses has given me an excellent background in math. I also took various english and writing composition classes which has provided me with excellent communication skills. I have work for various customer service companies which has brought out my natural strength of handling human relationships. Which could prove beneficial when interacting with customers.
I believe that everyone learns in a different way so I approach teaching with a very adaptable style that adjusts to the person or people I am teaching. I love teaching because I truly enjoy seeing the light come on when a student gets it. I have had some excellent teachers in my life and have used their techniques to help students I tutor. I understand there is not one specific way to teach a subject and the key is asking questions to find out what will help a particular student. I hold both a Bachelor's degree in Biology and an MBA in Marketing and Project Management. Since August of 2009 I have been serving as a Math Enrichment Tutor in St. Cloud, MN, through the Minnesota Math Corps program. My focus has been working one-on-one with seventh and eighth graders. A Little Bit About Me...

As a recent graduate of Saint John’s University, I possess many skills that make me a great tutor candidate. I graduated with a BA in Biology, along with a minor in secondary education and teaching certification pending the completion of my student teaching in fall 2010. Throughout college, I held many teaching and tutoring positions. I was a site coordinator for the Fast Forward Youth Program, where I tutored underrepresented high school students and helped them gain college access. Other positions included counseling high school students at a youth in theology and ministry institute and volunteering as a catechist for 5th grade students at the St. Joseph Lab School.
