Retired CPA Partner: Experienced Accounting Tutor!!

I have tutored many in accounting at Ohio State and Franklin University. I try to make the student understand the underlying accounting principles that are involved in their problems. To train them in ways to cross check and verify their answers. I try to get the student to verbalize what they have learned. I firmly believe that if they can explain it logically to me,they understand.If not, more work is necessary. In addition, the ability to communicate is critical in the accounting field. I train them to enter the world of public accounting or business with confidence and teach them what to expect. Accounting is the language of business but they must learn how to speak it.

I first get to know the student's problem and start from there
Have taught lower-level undergraduate math classes for 3 years; I have worked as a tutor for close to 2 years at the MATH center of Ohio University. I have worked as a grader for professors and graded the classes I taught myself, hence I am familiar with most of the errors students commit which wage war against their grades

My comments on tutoring GMAT : Math only

I have 10 years of teaching experience with students in math and chemistry. For 4 of those years I ran a tutoring business in North Carolina working mainly with college prep students needing AP course and test prep help in math, chemistry and statistics. I have also worked as an analytical chemist for 9 years, working in pharmaceuticals and forensics labs. Additionally I have served as an assistant coach for the Ohio math team that represents the state in national math competitions.
