I have a Bachelor's in Computer Science with focus on the Microsoft languages (C++, C#, ASP, dotNEt, etc.) The requirements for this degree was heavy in math. I do, however, feel better qualified in verbal and writing skills. I also have a minor in Philosophy and Theology. This ties in with my High School and middle school upbringing, having attended a Catholic middle and High school as well as the University I attended being a Baptist school. My full time job (Monday - Friday mornings) is as a programmer, so my technical knowledge is always fresh in my mind.
My tutoring style is somewhat laid-back with serious undertones. I feel the best way to learn is to not have information force fed, but to allow the individual to glean knowledge and come to an understanding of the subject gradually. While attending Claflin University in the pursuit of obtaining duel BA's in the field of journalism and sociology, my off times was spent in the middle schools of Orangeburg, SC for nearly six years. I spent 4-5 hours in the classroom (daily) as an assistant and tutor/mentor in language arts classes grades 6-8.
