I have enjoyed teaching children since an early age. In high school, I started my own dance studio. I also began piano lessons in my home as well. During college i studied piano, voice and dance and continued teaching in these areas. I love helping others succeed and seeing them accomplish their goals.

My comments on tutoring Musical : I have been involved with music in some form my entire life. Can you discern music in the random noise of the streets or the rustling of leaves. I have had a well rounded career as a business professional and musician. As an information technology professional, I have worked with more software and tools than this space would allow me to catalog. As a senior manager and Chief Information Officer, I have worked to gain an understanding of the businesses processes and implemented beneficial solutions. I graduated from high school as number eleven in rank out of 248. I often assisted other students in both high school and college. Later, as a homeschooling mother of four, I taught all of my children all subjects through the eighth grade level. I just returned from the island of Saipan, where I taught high school English in a private school, and seventh grade English in a public school. I presently am a certified substitute teacher in the Cumberland County, PA, public school system, where I teach almost all grade levels and subjects. It's imperative to listen and understand a students challenges. Reviewing their previous work and giving a current test is a good indicator of the situation. I believe in practice and examples as the clearest path to success. I don't hand deliver answers and I make the process towards answers engaging. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that learning through hands-on experience is the best way to fully comprehend material. I want to interest students in academics. To accomplish this, a teacher must show how math, or reading is useful; how anything can be exciting. I want to make learning fun. And I use a variety of tactics to accomplish this.
I recently graduated from Bard College, a selective liberal arts school in New York. I have taken classes in a variety of subjects including biology, french, history, and writing. I recently completed a 90 page thesis. I have excellent critical thinking and writing skills, which have served me well as a student. As a tutor, I strive to engage my students in thinking complexly about the topic at hand. I have experience tutoring middle school aged children in music, math, and writing.
