Guitar is one of my top subjects! I have been playing guitar since the late 1990s. I have played in numerous bands with styles ranging from folk, blues, and jazz to rock, pop, and alternative.

I have professionally tutored Math and English as an employee of Ohio University, in a private junior-high and high-school academy, and on an individual basis. I taught a semester of Elementary French at Ohio University in Athens. I am always willing to tutor any subject, but my greatest academic strength lie in language learning. English has long been my strongest subject, and I am fluent in French as well (please see the comments in my subject listing). I am also a long-time musician and singer-songwriter and would gladly provide guitar lessons.

I have circled myself with music my entire life. I began playing clarinet at age ten, and during my college years I studied music theory and composition while majoring at piano. I am often complimented on my ability how to teach others music parts and instruction. I am slow and precise with the student to understand not only each segment of instruction but the why and how it fits into the music. My studio is student focused. Student learn jazz, rock, classical, latin and popular styles. There is an equal focus of reading and performing by ear. Song writing, music therory and improvization are included in students lessons as they show an appitude and willingness to progress. Students are at all levels beginner, intermediate and advanced. The youngest was 3 and the oldest 82 years of age.
