My comments on tutoring Marine Biology : Subject that I have taught as an elective subject.

I was employed by the Lakeland Central School District as a substitute Teacher Aide and later in a full time capacity. I worked for the OASIS Program and later at the Alternative High School. After completing my Bachelor's Degree at Concordia College, I applied for and was accepted into the New York City Teaching Fellows Program. I taught Special Education at a high needs urban high school in the Bronx. This was a challenging and rewarding experience. Many of my students continued on to post secondary schools. I am currently finishing my Master's degree program at City College of New York, expected graduation is May 2013.
I have a varied style, which is geared to the learning style of my students. I teach world to text, text to text, text to life.

I believe a good teacher should have the following attributes. First, they should love their respective subject. Second, they should have real world experience that can tie to the lesson of the day. Third, they should understand the needs and desires of their students. Lastly, they must have a firm but fair method of classroom discipline. With the subject of earth science, I have the passion and experience to make a difference in your student's life.
I have BS degrees in education and industrial engineering. I also have an MS Teachers in Geosciences. I have worked for much of my career as an engineer but have also taught earth science at the high school level for two years in the recent past. I have been involved in the Microbiology field for over 40 years. I have taught Microbiology to employees and student interns. The Medical Society of New York chose me to educate physicians regarding the CLIA laws governing all clinical laboratories. As a laboratory consultant I have taught laboratory employees at physicians' offices. Although I have never officially tutored, I have instructed students on a one on one basis.
