As a graduate of Oakland University with degrees in both art and teaching, I have gained vast experience with a variety of students. My career began at Paint a Miracle, a Rochester art studio geared towards adults and children with special needs. I was in charge of tracking supply use, planning and executing lessons with my students, and assisted in selecting works for exhibition. I am currently a writing tutor and learning coordinator at the University of Michigan. I help to insure that student athletes receive a fair education while they are on scholarship. I tutor them on a weekly basis in most subjects but I focus primarily on writing and English. I am a very effective writing tutor both for grammar checking, composition, and essay writing. A Little Bit About Me...

I use a variety of teaching styles while instructing students. Alternating between styles helps to keep minds engaged and participation at a maximum. When covering content I use many examples that relate to real life, that way students can relate it to something they have experienced or seen. I also like performing small-scale experiments and labs. I will use power point presentations as well as the overhead for drawings, notes, and discussion. During my time in college, I studied both Fine Art Painting and Art Education. Getting my BFA in Painting allowed me to study many disciplines of art while refining my painting techniques. At the same time, I earned my degree in Art Education and have an Indiana Teacher's License to teach visual art to all grades.
