I believe in teaching students at their ability level and building them up to be able to comprehend and complete grade level work. I am able to express material in a variety of teaching styles, finding the one that works best for my student(s).

My area of strength is with students who are low learners or have learning disabilities. Who Wants To Be A Francophone Too?

Well, I will adjust my teaching style to suit the needs of the student.
I began my French career roughly ten years ago. I knew that French would be at the very center of my existence. Therefore, I decided to dedicate my studies to the language. I even wound up living in France for over a year. I lived in Paris for six months and Montpellier for the rest of the year. It was one of the best experiences of my life; it truly taught me what it means to speak and to understand French, which is why I have made it my goal to aide others in understanding the oftentimes difficult language.

A teacher never stops teaching, and never ceases learning.

I have to first find the learning style of the student. As a teacher, I find that students have diverse ways of learning and that I must adapt my teaching style to their needs. For instance, I have some students who are auditory learners and sometimes retain information more if information is read orally to them. Some students must have a generous amount of explanation as to the content of what he or she is reading while otheers require many visual cues to accompany their learning. It really depends upon the student.

Teaching is my second career after twenty years in executive level business. I have taught in elementary, middle and high schools. I have also taught adults with and without formal education. Depending upon the prescribed materials used by the school or tutoring company, I have a student centered approach to teaching.
