This is my second year teaching where the assignment involves teaching Language Arts from second to sixth-grade. This assignment requires that I teach reading, writing, and spelling for the grades listed above. Also I student taught fifth grade, all subjects. I also volunteered at several places where I taught, tutored, and coordinated for different organizations. I am also Proficient in many technological applications that are needed in the classroom such as Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Access. I have to first find the learning style of the student. As a teacher, I find that students have diverse ways of learning and that I must adapt my teaching style to their needs. For instance, I have some students who are auditory learners and sometimes retain information more if information is read orally to them. Some students must have a generous amount of explanation as to the content of what he or she is reading while otheers require many visual cues to accompany their learning.
