Hello! I earned my Bachelor of Arts in psychology (3.5 GPA) in 2012 and have been tutoring English; ESL; reading; writing; and more for 8 years. I have worked as a teacher in many capacities. I was a Dance Instructor at various studios, and I taught Communication Studies as a Graduate Instructional Assistant at Texas State University in San Marcos. I have more than 10 years of professional experience in a variety of occupations from tutoring, mentoring and supervising to doing extensive research, grading papers and tests, and preparing lesson plans. My comments on tutoring Poetry : I have written poetry for about 12 years now. I took several poetry courses in college and still continue to write it, even having graduated. It is ranked at the top of my passions, alongside American Sign Language.

I prefer teaching one on one, but I could teach a small group.
I went to Princeton High School, and took American Sign Language throughout my high school career. My senior year, I also mentored a fellow student who was deaf when she came to my school for a class. I also took courses at UC and recieved a certificate in Deaf Studies. I have also interacted with a few deaf people over the years.

My teaching style revolves around the idea of mastering important aspects of a subject area before moving to a more difficult subject area. In our current education system, students are allowed to move to more difficult courses without having the necessary building blocks. Through one-on-one tutoring, it is possible to take a couple steps back, assess a student's current capabilities and tailor lessons to the individual student (i.e. one student may need to back track and practice fractions before moving on to more difficult algebra).
