When tutoring students I try to take a multidimensional approach. I attempt to show the child, explain it in my own words, have the student explain it in his/her own words, and then have them apply and practice so that the material really sticks.
Throughout high school and college I helped numerous classmates develop efficient ways of studying as well as providing assistance to learning and understanding the given material. During high school I mainly tutored my neighbor's young children in elementary subjects. In college I helped fellow classmates in my major and minor. The most challenging tutoring experience I had was when my own brother was diagnosed with schizophrenia and he was taken out of school for months at a time. Honest and Driven, love to teach no matter the age!

College degree in 2002 in CIS, a couple certifications here and there. I have been a Machinist for 6 years going now. Straight A's all thru school and love working with people....especially children. I have tutored before, I am currently tutoring kids at my high school everyday in the subject in which they need help in. My goal in tutoring is to not only to have the child succeed in the course but to understand the concept of the course. My style of teaching is different for each child, because everyone does not learn the same way. Some people are visual learners and with them I focus on teaching them with pictures. I love working with all types of people, as helping people is a great passion of mine. I find it effective to teach by relating to something that the person I am teaching really enjoys. For example if they love basketball, I may try to relate the subject to it, to make it easier to learn. I have a lot of patience and usually have no problem helping someone.
