I served four years of active duty in the United State Marine Corps. I have mentor and lead Marines on a daily basis to ensure their safety and well being. Teaching them their job skills and ensuring that each individual conduct themselves as a Marine. I have acquired electronics/electrical skills in troubleshooting and repairing. These skills required an extensive math knowledge. While serving in the Marine Corps, I worked on my BS in Electronic System Technology and completed this degree in December of 2009.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have been a dance teacher in both a private SACS accredited school and public school for a total of 20 years. I have taught all ages, as I am certified K-12. In my tenure as an electives teacher, I have been required to teach content skills in both math and reading. Most recently, I was a lead teacher for a preschool where I prepared students to enter kindergarten. I have excellent written and verbal skills, which along with my passion for teaching combine to make me a great tutor! I have had great success working with ADD and ADHD students.
I strongly believe in differentiated learning. Each student, with the help of a qualified educator, should discover which learning style (or combination of styles) works best for them. I enjoy tutoring a great deal because you can help the students gain confidence in themselves to do better with hard work and discpline. Everyone learns different and I try to find the best way to incorpate all styles of learning into my tutoring, so everyone is learning. I like to get the students involved in the learning by them showing they understand by examples and activities. I want them to know and understand the lesson I am teaching.
As a student who was assisted by tutoring, I would be glad to help other students achieve excellence in their studies and gain confidence in themselves. I have been a tutor since I was in a freshmen in high school. I have tutored students in English and reading skills. I tutored a group of sixth graders, who approved their state academic scores. A Little Bit About Me...

I have always thought of myself as a progressive teacher. I always thought children could learn to do anything they were asked to do. I always loved learning and felt it was my obligation to instill the same in all my students, no matter what age. I feel all students are influenced by the use of art and music to learn and that is what I use. I know I can make a difference in each child and give them a healthy learning environment.
