I have an associates degree in Computer Science/Engineering and a bachelor's in Mathematics Education with a minor in Psychology. I have over 25 years teaching/tutoring/test prep experience. I have also authored ACT test items and units for various textbook companies. I design, and deliver workshops for teachers across the state of Mississippi as a teacher/consultant for the National Writing Project. Since the state of Mississippi implemented exit exams for various subjects in 1999, I have been conducting Subject Area Test Preparation for my Algebra I students and have a 100% pass rate among regular education students.

As a writer and former teacher, I am driven to deliver an integrated learning experience. In my classroom I taught students to use all their skills to remember, learn, and master the subject matter. I've earned a dual degree, BA in Journalism and Spanish, that enable me to teach grammar, literature, and many aspects of language arts from a global first-hand perspective. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a strong believer in teaching a student how to learn. By that I mean, students not only need to know a specific subject matter but also how to aquire and use knowledge. My background is mostly in math and it is what I enjoy teaching the most. I like to use manipulatives to teach. I think students learn better if they have a "hands-on" approach.
