I earned my bachelor degree from the University of Minnesota Duluth in Teaching Secondary Mathematics and Secondary Earth and Space Science in 2001. Since that time, I have been teaching secondary classes at the same school which include: Earth science, astronomy, geology, transition mathematics, algebra I, algebra II, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, and computer applications. I earned my Master of Science in Science Education from Montana State University in 2008. My thesis was on the effects of teaching through the multiple intelligences by incorporating art with the sciences. I have also worked as a homebound instructor in such subjects as English, literature, biology, American history, French, and music. Teaching is a passion of mine. I am currently enrolled in my last semester as an Accounting student at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Accounting will be the second degree that I have earned. I have a History BSE degree with a certification in Social Science from Minot State University. I think that the combination of these degrees me a very unique prospective in History, Accounting and especially Economics. My patience has been the reason many of my employers pick me to train in the new employees. I have a lot of patience for people that are learning a new subject and my general demeanor is easy going. I teach through asking questions to bring the learner to the point of the lesson. I am able to breakdown harder lessons into smaller, more manageable lessons. Teachers complimented me on helping other students to learn the material.

I am currently a medical student at the University of Minnesota Medical School Duluth. Before I started medical school I worked as a tutor for six years with two teenage boys with autism. Under the six years of my tutoring, both of these "disabled" kids were completely mainstreamed and even taking some AP and challenge classes. I believe that any kid can learn if they are taught in a way that is fun and structured. I tutored these kids in Math, Science, Social Studies and English. I also spent a semester as a Teaching Assistant in an upper level Philosophy course during my undergrad. Most of my TA tutoring was helping college students write papers. I tend to teach things in a visual way. Drawing pictures, diagrams and using visual aides are the best ways I have witnessed to teach kids.
