I have been a substitute teacher for the last 6 years. I have taught PreK-12th grade in all subjects. I have been tutoring kids for 2 years and have really enjoyed it. I am working on a degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Special Education. I have been coaching kids since I have been out of high school. Through all of my work related experience, teaching has been the one thing that I loved and felt completely comfortable doing. I teach most often in an investigations approach, learning through experience and experimentation. I believe this hands on learning helps to cement information in a person's memory. I participated in ROTC and majored in Math and Physics at the University of Colorado. After college, I joined the Air Force and worked in the airfield operations career field. After two years, I was chosen to become an instructor, where I fell in love with teaching. After separating from the military, I substitute taught for a year, primarily focusing on high school math. In 2007, I moved to Las Vegas, and I worked for a Tutoring Club. I taught math and my students ranged in age from 8 years through adult. I love teaching and working with students of all ages. I particularly enjoy watching a student's eyes light up after catching on to something new.
