My teaching style is one which engages the student actively in the learning process. I have used the "popcorn" technique in a classroom, where I call out "popcorn", then call on someone at random. This ensures that each student in the class is following, or else they lose their turn to read. If I'm working w/ a student w/ poor reading skills, I allow them to read, and help them w/ the difficult words, encouraging them to sound out the word. I also try to engage models, and kinestetics, in the learning process. One picture=1,000 words, and one model = 1,000 pictures. I also use these techniques in teaching mathematics.

My pedagogical approach is founded upon space creating – creating an atmosphere that allows for each student to express themselves and become a valuable part of their own learning process. Without the student and their own initiative, minimal learning will take place. Such an approach provides students with a language of critique and critical understanding of the subject matter at hand.
