I believe that an open dialogue is a teacher's most needed resource. Any child needs to feel as though he or she can express concerns or apprehensions without the fear of feeling embarrassed or stupid. I truly believe that there is no such thing as a stupid question. Teaching should, of course, relay necessary information, but it should also foster a student's drive to succeed, as well as the knowledge that any goal can be reached through perserverance. Over the past 4 years, I've worked at the Colton Community services recreatioon depatrment. Before introducing my teaching style with the student, I first make a detailed observation on where they are at in the subject. I review their stong points and weaknesses. For Intance, If they have pronounciation issues or trouble understanding vocabulary, I will focus my attention to that before moving on to any new or next step. I like to review what was learned last session before starting the new session so it stays fresh in their minds.
