When I teach, I focus heavily on making sure the students understand the fundamental concepts. My experience has taught me that many students at all levels struggle with math because their fundamentals are lacking in important concepts, and because math tends to build upon previously learned topics, those who cannot grasp the fundamentals will often find themselves struggling to keep up with the ever growing material. I give as much time and attention to each student necessary, making sure that they have a strong foundation in math, which eventually allows them to pick up more difficult subjects with greater ease.
