I loved teaching! I think I retired too early because I miss the every day challenges and excitement teaching gives! I have been trained in 4Mat and Gardners Multiple Intelligences. I firmly believe "every child can learn" as long as you teach to their learning style. My daughter is following in my foot steps and will start her first teaching job in September. I love to teach and see the ideas light up the eyes of the person who suddenly got a concept. I think teaching should be adaptable and should fit the learning style of the student. Visual tasks, memory games, and hands-on-learning are, in my opinion, the best way to help someone truly learn (versus rote memory). As a tutor at Eastern University I came to the realization that not all students learned in the same way. I have a different teaching style as compared to the teachers putting things into real life examples, or even making things hands on so my students understand better.
