I am currently enrolled in an Educator Preparation Institute to obtain my certification to teach. In the meantime, I am employed as a substitute teacher for Pasco County, and I previously volunteered for after school care tutoring programs for children between the ages of 6-18. I feel that I have a very positive attitude, and when I am dealing with children I try to remain clam and comical. My teaching style is based on student needs and abilities. I feel that every child is capable of learning and enjoying music as well as any other subject. A students progress is determined by their learning rate based upon their maturity level. Students learn at levels and must master one level before attempting a higher level. Therefore, as a teacher I try to provide instruction that meets a students needs and instruction that progresses according to a students mastery of necessary skills.
After receiving a Bachelor of Music in Education degree from Youngstown University, Youngstown, Ohio I was employed by the Crestwood Schools, Mantua, Ohio to teach instrumental music.
