In 1976 I left the blue-collar world and returned to college, strongly motivated to learn. In 1980 I acquired a BA in Geography (3.81 gpa in my major, 3.53 overall), with a minor degree in Environmental Geology (3.6 gpa). During my last three years of undergraduate study I was the departmental tutor in Physical, Cultural and Economic Geography.
