I believe with the right supports all children can learn. I have tutored students with special needs. My goal is to help the child build on their strengths and believe they can improve on their weaknesses. My teaching style is to set objectives that challenge students and support them by building on what they already know. I am extremely patient and professional and well liked by my students.
With a degree in Special Education and a Masters in Education I have learned about how children learn best. I have a Florida Teacher's License for teaching ESE (Exceptional Students Education), Spanish, Elementary Education, and other subjects. I taught in the Ocala public school system. Additionally, I have tutored the children of some of mmy friends in both HS and college level chemistry. I have been involved in teaching anatomy and physiology for one year to nursing studentsand during my career in medicine I was involved in continuing education programs for my nurses as well as collegues.
I prefer a one on one teaching program and encourage questions from my students to try to follow their needs rather than an arbitrary program of lectures. I encourage my lecture students to read the material before to make the lecture more understandable and allow them to use questioning to enlarge their understanding.

I am a recent graduate from Johns Hopkins University where I majored in mathematics with a concentration in chemistry. A Little Bit About Me...

After working as an environmental engineer for a couple of years, I realized that I wanted to join the teaching force. I was the rookie teacher of year for my school and then two years later, received the teacher of year nomination. A Little Bit About Me...

All children have the ability to learn given the opportunity. I want to give them that opportunity by figuring out ways to convey my lesson to all my students. This task could be accomplished by trying a number of strategies, including the arts and music. Students should also be kept interested in the subject matter.
