My name is Eduard Frelikh. I'm math and physics teacher. I do private tutoring for 11 last years. Last 2 years I do it mostly in SpringLight teaching Center (Cupertino). I do classes for conceptual physics, AP physics I, physics C, SAT, physics BOWL, USAPho F=ma contest. Recently 8 of my students were winners in USAPho: 4 silver, 1 bronze medals and 3 honorable mention. (reference table included). Totally I prepared 9 students for this competition this year. My comments on tutoring Calculus I : I can instruct one on derivatives, anti derivatives, and integrals(no they are not the same as derivatives).

I am a big believer in explaining concepts repeatedly until a student understands so I have a lot of patience. You need to with math. I remember how it was learning all those concepts for the first time. I try to use steps as much as possible so my students always feel like they have a way to get to their destination from any point in a problem. Beyond that there's not to much to say. I'm a firm believer that a person does not truly understand a concept until they have practiced doing problems over and over.
