Finally, I get into the material with the student and show them how and why the material is important and applicable in the world in which we live.

My teaching style totally depends on my student. Every one has a different learning style, and I try to be adaptable. I believe you must create a relaxed and and supportive atmosphere for the learner. Projecting a sense of confidence in the student goes a long way towards helping him/her achieve his/her educational goal. Lots of time the student has the skills but is not sure enough of himself/herself to proceed. I am just the prompter. I spent much of my time at Millsaps coming up with a system of studying and organization which I shared with numerous others.
