I enjoy helping students understand the principles they are dealing with, rather than focusing on helping them simply "get the answer" to the problem at hand. I received a technology degree in 1975. Several years later I returned to college to persue a Physics/Mechanical Engineering Degree from SUNY New Paltz and RPI. I was an "A" student in Physics and enjoyed tutoring many classmates. I was a guest lecturer several times at RPI. Due to work and family commitments I did not complete the degree. My wife and I homeschooled our children through the primary grades. I taught sciences. While an Employee at IBM, I wrote and taight technical courses. Last year, as President of the Writers Forum, we spent several months tutoring as part of an after school program where we helped children in Baltimore write.
For writing, usually I conduct some exercises. The level of the critique and what to say depends heavily on the age of the student. A Little Bit About Me...

I like being with children. I think that their interests change, develop and grow and as such I love to learn about the things they are interested in, and enjoy them as well. As such, I find ways to communicate and work with children so that they learn well.
A not so great student, I found that I still loved learning. I love stories in all forms. I have a degree in History from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I love politics and history, and found Library Science a natural extension of history and political science. Thus I now have a Masters degree in Library Science.
