Writing is one of my top subjects! I am very good at leading others through the process of reasearching and writing papers and presentations.

I like to help students find out how they learn best by asking questions and through learning style tests. Normally I would have them write something and then we would look at their work together and discuss how we could improve it. Once they see how they write, and then learn what they need to do to improve that, and why, they start to incorporate that writing style. We may write up templates, or dummy copies, so that they have something to refer to the next time they need to write a similar project. It isn't about showing them what they aren't doing, but showing them what they can do and how they can improve that.

During my Junior and Senior year of college, I tutored at a Children's Home in Lubbock, TX, 3 nights a week. I have also taught Sunday School classes off and on for the past 15 years for ages 1 year to 14 years old. I volunteer on a regular basis at my son's school, and have worked with the students primarily with Math and English.

I taught English to ESL foreign language students using my guitar. I also let my students play my guitar and sing along. It was the only way I discovered, which would keep their attention so they would remain seated.
