My comments on tutoring Special Education : I already have my AA degree and am going to school to be a special education teacher.

I have been working as a student worker at Blue River Community College for the past few years. I really enjoy being able to help students study and learn. I graduated with my Associates this year and am pursuing a teaching degree. I have also had experience with helping tutor the children of freinds and family. I am able to and have exerience working with ages from elementary school students all the way up to college students.
I like to help students find out how they learn best by asking questions and through learning style tests. Everyone doesn't learn in the same way and by finding out the students learning style I like to then taylor how I help them learn based off how they will be able to retain the information best.

Educating the youth-academically, socially, and mentally.

I am a second year teacher. I taught 4th grade last year, and will be teaching 5th grade this school year. I am certified in both Missouri and Kansas. I obtained my degree from UMKC. I am very passionate about what I do and take it very seriously. However, learning should be flexible with lots of hands on experiences.
Student needs to first be extrinsically motivated with a goal of intrinsic motivation. Motivation is key in learning.

15 plus years of educating young children

I prefer a hybrid teaching style. If a standard teaching style was working for the student then they most likely would not need tutoring.
I have taught Early Childhood Education since 2000 to 2002 at Angel Academy Preschool. Later, I worked with children through the Y.M.C.A of Port Huron, Michigan and Lenawee County, Michigan. I helped school age children with homework in the afternoons and during the day taught preschool. While attending junior College I tutored students struggling with math. After graduating college I began substitute teaching in Michigan for elementary school children. I became a mother in 2011 and stayed home with my children for a few years, and then went back to substituting. In 2016, I earned my certification in Missouri and have worked with preschool age and elementary age children for the past 4.5 years.
