I am a Marshall University student and Adjunct Faculty member. I have earned a bachelor degree in Communications Studies with a minor in Public Relations. In 2006, I received a Master's degree in Communications with an emphasis in Oral Speaking. Presently, I am two semesters away from an Ed.S. in Higher Education with hopes of entering the doctorate program next fall. I have taaught a variety of levels of Communication courses at Marshall University, MCTC, and Huntington Junior College. I have a passion for teaching. I beleive it was what I was born to do. When I was in my first year of college, I took a personality profile that was intended to tell me what career choices would suit me the best. Each time I took the profile, the results stated that I was best suited to be a Teacher. The secondary career choice was business. I entered college so that I could be a financial professional, and was rather surprised by the results of the profile that I thought would say "financial" as my career choice. I decided to teach driver's education at a local Christian school for two years, and found that my students were actually learning valuable lessons from my experiences, and were retaining what I taught them. As a child, I entered the gifted program very young and have always tutored my peers. Tutoring led me to join the Quiz Bowl and other Academic Teams as well as led me to graduate high school early. I have tutored everything from Accounting to Chemistry to Mathematics to Finance to Anatomy/Physiology. I have recently earned a bachelor degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and have tutored many students over the past five years in Cost Accounting, Finance, Governmental Accounting, Auditing, Banking, Marketing, and Management at the college level. I have tutored several children since graduating college for free as well, and have always enjoyed helping others learn and understand new things. I love children of all ages.
