A Little Bit About Me...

In addition to completing an undergraduate degree in English Writing Arts in 2007, I have finished my graduate degree in Adolescence Education 7-12: English. This year I served as a tutor for Murray Learning Services, tutoring students in Oswego County in both English Language Arts and mathematics. I am also a substitute teacher for Mexico Academy and Central Schools where I have taught kindergarten through 12th grade, including special education classes. I have had wonderful opportunities to put my education to work during tutoring, substitute teaching, practicum settings and, currently, student teaching. I believe that children will learn from someone they trust to talk to and from someone who they trust to give them the correct answers to their questions. I enjoy being that person. I am currently a sixth grade teacher at a Catholic Elementary School. I have been with the same school for the past 14 years. My experience there has been in the following grade levels: Pre-School, First Grade, Fourth Grade, Sixth Grade, Seventh Grade Math & Science, and Eighth Grade Math & Science. I have also tutored students in grades three through six in both reading and mathematics.
It is very important to me that my students have fun while they are learning. Much of my teaching is done through games and hands-on experiences.
