IN NEED OF A JOB

I like to have a fun open minded discussion. I don't like boring so I will do my best to spice it up.
I have obtained my GED and have always had straight As in high school. I'm also familiar with construction and building skills. I am a visual learner and will do my best to make the teaching fun. I have also obtained 13 college credits from Kalamazoo valley central college. The 13 credits that I have obtained are in computer skills. The computer skills that I have obtained are those for knowing and understanding how to use Microsoft word and all other programs associated with it.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate of a writing and publishing Masters program at DePaul, I learned and practiced the art of writing in many genres including Non-Fiction, Poetry, Travel Writing, and others. I also took a course on Teaching Literature, where I learned about pedagogy and what it takes to teach literature to students. Throughout my undergraduate and graduate years of schooling, I have taken many classes that helped me work on my writing skill and production. I also spent two summers as an Instructor for a writing camp working with campers from ages 9-14; I ran a classroom where I created unique lesson plans each week in order to engage the campers in writing activities while keeping it fun in a summer camp setting.

I am a creative teacher. I love to design my own lessons to engage students and compliment their learning styles. I have experience teaching traditional classrooms, but my passion is non-traditional education. I love working one-on-one with students or in small groups.
I graduated from Saginaw Valley State University with a degree in Secondary Education and am certified in the State of Michigan to teach 6-12th grade English and math. I enjoy teaching others and helping them excel in their studies. I can relate to younger students because I have a six year old who required extensive help in the area of reading. She was one of my greatest achievements because I had to research a way to communicate on her level of understanding and yet make it interesting and fun.
