Throughout my education I've had a drive to teach. While earning my BS in chemistry with minor in biology I assisted many fellow students by acting as both a laboratory assistant and as a tutor in general chemistry and organic chemistry. My teaching experience continued into my post-graduate career where I acted as a Teaching Assistant primarily responsible for teaching 2 to 3 organic chemistry laboratory sections per semester. A Little Bit About Me...

I like children to learn through exploring. This is not to say that I do not teach, but I plan lessons in a way that allows students to learn at their own pace. I feel like if I can put together a lesson that gives children a motivation to learn, they will learn on a deeper level than if I am merely telling them information. With my middle school math students whom I tutored, this meant that we learned about fractions through art. It was not enough to explain to them how fractions worked, I realized that they needed to experience fractions. We spent the same amount of time as the regular class did on fractions, but my students were able to better explain their work.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a Cornell graduate of Biomedical Engineering, I was able to learn about a variety of subjects and gain a better understanding of multiple types of math and science.
