I have more than 8 years of tutoring experience in chemistry/basic science at the college level. I currently work in the chemical industry which helps me apply the material the student is learning to real-life research and development of products. I recieved my PhD in physical chemistry from Penn State University and tutored my entire time there.

The most important of the factors are the subject matter and the students learning style. The learning style of the student has to be considered when teaching. Helping a student learn requires finding the most effective method. You want to make sure they understand the subject matter while exposing them to other possible ways to approach difficult problems.
