Children are our future. I believe that all children have something wonderful to offer the community. Learning is not always easy for children, I take the time to find out the strengths and weakness they my have, I find out what their interest are, this is a great tool for teaching children something they may be struggling in, an I strive to provide a safe and fun environment for them to learn in. I have recently graduated from Lyon College with a degree in mathematics and a 4.0. From this I have achieved a high level of excellence and performance. Also, I worked as a math tutor for Lyon College in the learning center and as a math tutor for Cedar Ridge High School after school during my time in college. Along with these positions, I did some private tutoring for some fellow students and a high school student in the area. I have earned a BS in Chemistry and a minor in Math. I am currently working as a chemist, so I have kept up with all the new studies that are taking place right now. I have tutored all through High School, College and thereafter. I have a real passion for learning math, all sciences, and history. I hope I can pass this respect for these studies on to everyone I teach.
I believe we all learn in different ways, and I am always open minded in finding the best way for that student I am working with at that time. I started teaching Music in 1984. I taught part-time, temporary while pursuing education goals and working as a professional musician. In 1998 I became an adult educator, and in the following nine years I taught GED, Workforce, Computer and ESL. I learned to speak Spanish from some of my ESL students. Today I run a new program called Bachillerato de las Americas en Arkansas, comprised of curricula obtained from Kingston, Jamaica and Heredia, Costa Rica. I enjoy teaching all age levels.
