I have many and varied experiences in teaching music in the public schools and privately for over 30 years. I have my bachelors degree in music education-k-12 and I have almost finished my Master's degree in Music Education. My teaching experience includes classroom, vocal-choral, piano and band. During my years teaching in the public school system, I volunteered often for after-school activities organized in order to tutor the students in math, science, english, etc. I have also been a substitute teacher and have experience teaching several subjects which also included special education and emotional behavioral disabled children. I believe that the use of the modalities in teaching are quite beneficial and aid in smooth instruction. Visual, hearing and hands-on activities keep the student occupied and on-task. Each student learns in different ways and adapting all into a lesson keeps an engaged mind.

A Little Bit About Me...

During my sophomore year in high school I decided to begin tutoring ESL students. I found the ability to help others succeed very rewarding, and began tutoring fellow classmates in courses including but not limited to English, math, biology, and chemistry. These sometimes difficult subject always made sense to me and I enjoyed watching as the students I tutored were successful. I have in that time earned a BS in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Florida State University.
