I am patient and encouraging. I have a talent for identifying how people learn. It is important to know what works with people in order to dail into the proper approach. Some people can read and immediately understand. Others need the repetition of hands-on experience. Some need memory tricks like "Mickey Mouse" for spelling "accoMModate" or "seize the weird sheik at your Leisure" for remembering exceptions to the "i-before-e" rule. I have earned a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I have over 15 years of teaching experience in all grade levels. I have spent the majority of my teaching career educating young adults in the areas of math, science, reading, social studies and writing.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a current undergraduate chemistry and honors student at Arcadia University, I was recommended to become a tutor from several of my teachers my first year in college. I became a certified CRLA tutor and started tutoring my sophomore year of college; I've been tutoring ever since. I tutor chemistry, biology, math (beginner algebra, statistics, calculus I and II), and calculus based physics.
I love working with students and teaching them something new. The best feeling is when someone understands a concept that they didn't before; when something "clicks" for a student, I feel as if my job as a tutor was done.
