A Little Bit About Me...

My passion is to teach and work with students of all levels and ages. Being and ASL teacher I must be dynamic and engaging as the instructor. From my experience I have learned different ways to interact with students to keep them interested in the material. My overall goal, of course, is to enable the student to comprehend the course material in a way that they can understand and relate to. My teaching method varies on the individual I am working with at the time. I make the appropriate modifications to match the needs of the student and their particular learning style.
My career in education began while attending CSUN. I started as a paraprofessional at a charter school, and also was able to teach my own elective classes. I have earned two bachelor degrees which has given me the chance to motivate other youths and kids to seek the world and don't let it end with High school. There is more to life. Granting that Education is the key to success and without education there will be no sense of direction.
I love working with kids. I believe that the kids are our future and if we adults don't help them grow up to be leaders and make better choices in their lives we will not have any sense of direction.

Much of my teaching style I learned while at Apple Computer in one on one computer teaching sessions. I tend to be a very enthusiastic and encouraging anyway, but Apple taught me an additional patience and a lead-learning-out teaching style that promotes self-discovery and avoids simply giving answers. Though it is geared towards adults, I have since found that adapting the patent and deliberate pace of LLO teaching to the learning level of younger children is effective and fun for both myself and the student. To be less specific, I was born to teach. I have fun doing it, and my goal is that my students have even more fun learning than I do teaching.
