A Little Bit About Me...

I work as Engineer in Photonic Solution company. However, I am also tutor as part time job with Secondary and High school students on Mathematics and Physics about 2 years. I believed that my engineering degree has enabled me to gain understanding about Mathematics and Physics.
I try to understand the student about problem which make them not understand for each items. I thought Mathematics and Physics are not so hard but just need to get answer of something that cause most of people not understand. A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy giving the students individual attention. I noticed that often students are ashamed to ask for help or ask questions in front of the class. It is important to walk around the classroom and ask students how they are doing and if they understand the concepts. Many times it only then will a student accept help. Students have a wide range of learning styles. It is important to remember that when helping students. I like to break down a lesson into simpler ideas so it is easier to learn.
Following my graduation from UHH, I was a substitute teacher and tutor for ESL students for 5 months. I have worked students coming from all types of backgrounds. Recently, I have begun substitute teaching again and have been for an additional 4 months. I enjoy working with the students and seeing them excel.

I feel that in teaching my goal is to effectively reach all children. Individual care and attention are the most effective ways which I feel a child can be persuaded to learn. I take pride in being patient and think that every child has brilliance to show, they just show their skills at different and varying degrees.
In 2003 I traveled to India where I began work in a village in the South teaching English and Sociology to 4-11th graders. The experience was incredibly rewarding and was a wonderful vision into the complexities of education and culture. As a team lead I have mentored and taught younger team members for over 10 years in computer programming, planning, statistical analysis, budgeting, and mathematical computations. I have also taught them how to debug problems, test solutions, and how to successfully complete their tasks. I have over 20 years experience in a variety of fields such as Defense Industry (Department of Navy), Space Systems (Atlas V lauch vehicle), and commercial (Lockheed-Martin).
My teaching/mentoring/tutoring style is tailored to the student. I do not believe their is a generic teaching style that will help all students. Most people I have worked with have difficulty understanding a couple of key points and once that obstacle is overcome learning accelerates until the next obstacle is reached.
