A variety of methods are an important means to education as not all students experience the learning process in the same way. NLP, VAK, Multiple Intelligences, PACE system, Journaling, SuperLearning with Lazanov; relaxation tapes and tapes for particular learning needs I make myself for the students. After completing my biology and chemistry degree, I volunteered for 18 months in impoverished areas in California. Following this I decided to start teaching. While at Utah State University I completed both a Masters program and a second undergraduate program simultaneously. I am currently licensed to teach high school science. In 2003 I traveled to India where I began work in a village in the South teaching English and Sociology to 4-11th graders. The experience was incredibly rewarding and was a wonderful vision into the complexities of education and culture. Due to this multi cultural experience I feel that I have a great skill in reaching students with multi ethnic backgrounds, and understand the discrepencies between written and spoken language.

Much of my teaching style I learned while at Apple Computer in one on one computer teaching sessions. I tend to be a very enthusiastic and encouraging anyway, but Apple taught me an additional patience and a lead-learning-out teaching style that promotes self-discovery and avoids simply giving answers. Though it is geared towards adults, I have since found that adapting the patent and deliberate pace of LLO teaching to the learning level of younger children is effective and fun for both myself and the student.
