K-12 and College Tutor

I have the take a learning styles test in our very first meeting to see what style of learner the are. I then concentrate on teaching them by what learning style they are.
I have tutored K-12 students, as well as college students. I tutor math for K-12 students and business courses and math for college students. I have a 100% success rate for the students I have tutored in my eight years of tutoring since 2004. A Little Bit About Me...

I consider myself a facilitator, not an authoritarian. I ascribe to the principles set forth by Malcolm Knowels and Benjamin Bloom. I rely on the strength and motivation of the student. I hesitate to call myself "teacher." I think I serve better as a guide which, hopefully, leads his client not just to a more enlightend place, but also to the place the client wants to be, or had in mind in the first place.
I started teaching Music in 1984. I taught part-time, temporary while pursuing education goals and working as a professional musician. In 1998 I became an adult educator, and in the following nine years I taught GED, Workforce, Computer and ESL. I learned to speak Spanish from some of my ESL students.
