I have always loved children and work hard to make a difference in their lives. Children are very diverse learners and I believe, as teachers, we need to discover the key to what really motivates them. Every child can become successful if they are given the appropriate tools and the opportunity to learn in a way that is specific to their learning abilities.
My theory of teaching is through the use of constructivism, a theory asserting that children learn by gradually making sense of their world based on a combination of their background knowledge and what they experience. I also use scaffolding, modeling, and inquiry-based teaching. I am dedicated to helping each child achieve their greatest potential. I graduated in 1999 from NMSU with a degree in Elem/Spec Education. While attending school, I worked in a group home for troubled teens and at a facility for adults with disabilities.
