A Little Bit About Me...

Because I was a "non-tradional" student, one with my own children, I knew several things from the start: first and foremost, I will always treat students the way I wish my own children are treated by their teachers. In addtion, I have an understanding that not all children, nor adults, learn the same and need to be offered a variety of experiences. My teaching style is one of a facilitator. I want to be the one delivery the lesson, modeling what our learning targets are, and allowing the students to achieve the goals based on the new information given.

I can identify and help students with learning disabilities because I myself have a learning disability. Although I myself was considered to be a slow learner and I had (and still have) dyslexia, I never the less taught myself how to study and how to get through high school, college, and graduate school. I am a professional singer, actress and dancer who has taught throughout my 15 year career. I truly love teaching, especially in a one-on-one or very small group setting.
