When I teach I try to instill a deep love for the subject matter. My philosophy is that a student cannot be forced to learn but must want to learn. I achieve this by individualizing my lessons for each student and their playing style. Everyone learns differently and each lesson reflects this fact. Before our first lesson, I encourage students to tell me a little about themselves and to also send me some of their games. During our first lesson, I try to establish a baseline of skill and playing style. As a current student at Central Michigan, I continue to strive for the best education I can possibly achieve. I have clepped out or aced all english classes at the college level and have found a great interest in writing and reading papers and essays. I am extremely familiar with both APA and MLA writing styles and have had numerous hours and years of practice writing papers and essays for my college level courses.
