A Little Bit About Me...

I recently have spent the last six months in the Head Start Program as a center teacher. We prepare them for kindergarten. I have taught all grade levels. I currently have a BA with a concentration in K-8 education. Due to online classes, I have written hundreds of research and essay papers using APA style although I have helped my son use MLA which I can write in effectively.
Teaching mainly K-8 on a consistent schedule, I have learned that some students need one-on-one teaching. Being the third teacher in Head Start, I had time to work with individual students. All children were very well prepared for kindergarten. The older children, including High School and Middle School, I would walk around the room and aide them when they were confused. I believe that many students do not know how to study, and are unsure of where to begin. This is especially true for students entering college, or high school, who never really had to study before. As a tutor, it is my job to help the student break down the material into manageable parts and teach them to identify what is important, and how to get organized.
