I have a passion to educate young minds and help them blossom into well rounded responsible individuals. I enjoy getting to know students in order to teach them. I have quite alot of experience in the filed of education. I was very driven to attain my degree and I also attained a minor in Psychology. I earned an Associates degree in Human Services, and a BS degree in the field of Special Education with a minor in Psychology. It was in the area of Special Education that I was able to broaden that degree to help a larger spectrum of children. I have tutored children with learing disabilities in the area of reading and writing. I have also had the oppurtunity to work with an agency in the area of Social Work. I am a hands on teacher. I can verbally explain things and then i like to utilize different techniques to ensure the children understand what i am explaning. I am opening to different teaching styles because each child learns differently.
I have currently worked at the Herkimer ARC for the past eight years. I have alot of experience working with people with disabilites from severe Mental Retardation, Cerebal Palsy,Autism, Learning Disability and Mental Heath. I have obtained a degree from Herkimer College in applied science with a minor in education. I also went to Mohawk Valley Community College for two years to obtain a degree in Nursing.
