After earning my doctorate in math in 1966, I began teaching at the University of Massachusetts as an assistant professor of math. I was promoted to associate professor in 1972, and continued there until 1977. In 1977 I moved to South Bend to join a Christian community there. I taught part-time at Notre Dame, St. Mary's and IUSB. In 1981 my community started Trinity School, and I taught there from 1981 until I retired in 2007. In 2008 I decided to do missionary work with a group in Indianapolis, and did some tutoring at IUPUI. Last Feb. we moved to Evansville. Last summer I tutored at Ivy Tech . I earned a well rounded education from Western Kentucky University with a strong emphasis in math / Engineering. Since College I have pursued the Surveying field. I have recently obtained the status of Professional Land Surveyor with the State of Kentucky. I have taught young graduates surveying practices in relation to the Engineering field while in management positions. I would be very excited about teaching children. I like to ask questions and get the student involved. I like to get the student engaged as much as possible. I would like to observe the method in which the student obtains the most information and expound on that variable, triggering many senses for better memorization.
