My comments on tutoring Grammar : Masters Degree in English. Experienced college level instructor specifically in grammar. Extensive hands-on classroom instuction with first year college students, would be suitable for junior and senior high school instruction as well. I have a B.A. in English and History from Marquette University in Miwaukee, Wisconsin. My comments on tutoring Grammar : Grammar is learned and practiced in context.

I teach a in a very relaxed, non-intimidating manner. Students are encouraged to speak and work with each other in group settings. I always determine each student's level of capability in order to teach at the appropriately. Each previous lesson is reviewed at the beginning of each class. Quizzes are given to measure students' progress, as well as student feedback to measure my teaching goals and objectives.
For the last 4 years, I have traveled to Mexico to teach. Previously, I spent three semesters teaching young adults and parents from all over the world at The Carnegie Center in Lexington, KY. I began teaching for fun over 15 years ago, giving English lessons to Latino horticultural workers during lunch. My background in advertising and writing seemed to help me move seamlessly into teaching. I returned to the university to study Spanish, and my ESL certification soon followed.

I like to make learning an interactive process as I believe students are more likely to retain what they learn when they have an active role in their success of understanding the material. Although I establish that I am the one in charge, I try to create a relaxed environment where the student feels comfortable enough to be open with their struggles, concerns, and questions. Teaching confidence through kindness and success

I taught high school social studies for 26 years at Tates Creek High School, primarily as a psychology teacher. I also taught a year at Tates Creek Middle School in the areas of Citizenship and American History.
