Social Studies and Creative Writing (English)

I like to challenge people to think outside of the box. Although I know it is important to know how to take tests and write papers appropriately, I also know that showing skills that go above and beyond, is what makes a student stand out. I am currently a Sociology student at Augsburg College. I am also pursuing a minor in Psychology. This year will be my last, so I will graduate in 2014. Also, I have taken several creative writing courses at the Loft Literary center, as well as at my College. I received a 4.0 in my courses. Also, in high school, I was always a level above in all English and composition classes.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am an accountant by occupation, and my tutoring experience is primarily as a volunteer, because I love learning and helping others to learn. I gave beginning piano and music theory instruction to a student who went on to become a professional flutist. I also taught beginning piano and music theory lessons to my neighbor's son, who went on to learn violin and recently guest conducted at his high school orchestra concert. As a volunteer at the New Brighton Community Education Center, I provided weekly Basic Reading and ESL tutoring.
