I have always had a passion for helping others learn. In high school I tutored students from different schools in math. After graduating with two bachelor's degrees from the University of Minnesota I began working full time as a financial analyst for Target Corporation. At the same time, I started teaching part time at a learning center. In the past three years I have been able to help students of all ages from first grade through college. As a student I enjoyed school and learning and therefore went on after high school to obtain a B.S in Biology. I have always enjoyed science, math, and writing and enjoy helping others in these subjects as well as others. My first tutoring experience was tutoring underprivileged high school students weekly. I then began tutoring middle school and high school students weekly. Over the course of the school year, the children I tutored had improved a great deal in their courses and now had a positive outlook on learning. My teaching style is such that students are taken and made active learners and not just as recipients of knowledge. Students have to own their learning. Students are encouraged to come up with the answers by leading them toward the answer and this involves using past experiences and knowledge leart earler instead of being given the answers. Collaborative learning is encouraged in my classes, because I believe that students can learn from each other.
I have two BS degrees, one in physics and Education and a masters degree in Physics. I am also a licensed teacher, teaching Physics and Chemistry, and three-time variance to teach Math. My 11 year experience in teaching in public, Alternative high and charter schools has prepared me for this job.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have developed numerous skills set in the area of quality control testing and reviewed documents under the general guide line and established protocol which abide by the FDA. Although my career was based in industrial analytical chemistry and biology, I also voluntarily tutored my nephews, neices, my wife, and groups of Oromo student at my community with math, Chemistry, Anatomy, Physiology and general biology both at high school level and college level.
