A Little Bit About Me...

Although I have no formal teaching experience, I do have been developing my teaching style for many years while I worked with the developmentally disabled. I learned to identify a teachable moment, which is a time at which the student would be most receptive to learning. As a tutor, I would create those moments and boost confidence by encouraging the student to explore the subject in the way that is most interesting to them. I moved to Japan and teach ESL and ESOL for almost 3 complete years. My expertise is in 5th & 6th grades, but am available for grades 2-8. I have some science background and taught technology also.
I loved teaching! I think I retired too early because I miss the every day challenges and excitement teaching gives! I have been trained in 4Mat and Gardners Multiple Intelligences.
